The March Public Policy meeting featured a presentation on the use of Vehicle Miles Traveled as a measuring stick to reduce automobile use and greenhouse gas emissions.
The newly expanded Housing Committee is conducting a survey to gauge interest among members of doing research and other work between meetings. The goal is to make it a working committee rather than one that simply meets monthly to hear presentations and ask questions. Also, the Committee is looking for volunteers to help survey the various cities in the region on what they are doing specifically to address homelessness.
I attended a meeting of the County Planning Department on housing issues on March 17, The County is working on an application to be designated as a pro-housing jurisdiction by the State. They are also working on a "Housing Blueprint" which would put all housing policies and programs under one umbrella.
