HOUSING &
HOMELESSNESS
Chairs: Myles Pomeroy and Mary Thompson

The League of Women Voters of San Diego and the League of Women Voters of North County San Diego recognize that the price and availability of housing can affect the public's well-being and the region's quality of life and vitality. The League supports housing as a basic human need and fundamental component of the region's structure.

This interest group meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 5pm.

Contact the co-chairs for more information about the League's position on housing, goals and plans for action.

The Housing & Homelessness Interest Group grew from the work of the League’s Public Policy Interest Group. In 2019 the Policy Group’s focus was updating the regional Leagues’ housing and transportation positions. In 2021 both Leagues adopted the Housing Action Policy and the Transportation Action Policy. (See Positions)

In 2021 the Housing Committee was formed to implement the actions covered in the adopted action policies. In February 2023, the North County League’s Homelessness Committee merged with the Housing Committee, forming the Housing & Homelessness Interest Group addressing issues throughout the region.
