Nate Fairman from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) provided informative materials that were shared with the committee, including letters to city council, Op-Eds, and a study conducted by Point Loma Nazarene University.
We have subsequently found out that SDG&E has initiated a new committee named Responsible Energy San Diego that consists of representatives from the unions, SDGE, and the community, who would like an opportunity to speak to us.
During the January meeting, committee members had a lot of questions, so it was felt we should have a panel of speakers, including Bill Bowers from Power San Diego, Bernadette from the SDGE responsible San Diego, a representative from Community Power, and a representative from the City’s Sustainability and Mobility dept.
We are planning to have this panel meeting at the next SEAC meeting February 20, 2024 at 4pm on
Zoom.
Please join us and learn more about the effort to put municipal power on the ballot.
