The League of Women Voters of San Diego is exploring this wide-ranging issue with renowned speakers who specialize in its problems and solutions.
Our speakers will be:
Sarina Lynn, Director of Community Engagement, Educational Enrichment Systems, will discuss the current workforce crises.
Andrea O’Hara, Executive Director, and Tara Ryan, Program Coordinator, of the City of San Diego Office of Child and Youth Success, will discuss the role of this office and how it’s handling the child care crises. They will also discuss the Child and Youth Plan.
Liki Porotesano, Program Specialist, Child and Family Well-Being, County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, will discuss the role of this new department and how it will work with the City to improve the child care crises.
Blake Hofsted, Director of California Parent Voices, will discuss current legislation dealing with the child care crises and the current focus of his organization.
Join us for a brown bag lunch on Wednesday, January 24 at 1-3pm at the Nobel Recreation Center at 8810 Judicial Drive. The venue is just off the 805 in the UTC area, and there is plenty of parking.
You can bring your own brown bag lunch or order a box lunch of a turkey avocado sandwich, chips and fruit from Corner Bakery for $14 when you register. We will provide beverages and cookies. We hope this will be a way to enjoy some social time together as well as hear from key speakers on this topic.
