Support for Community Planning Group Reform

The League of Women Voters supports a citizen’s right to know and facilitation of citizen participation in government decision-making at all levels. The reforms regarding community planning groups proposed by Councilmember LaCava will promote planning group boards which are more representative of their respective communities. Additionally, the proposed changes would implement many of the recommendations made by the City Auditor and County Grand Jury in 2018 to enhance performance and transparency.
Accordingly, the League of Women Voters of San Diego recommends that the Land Use & Housing Committee forward Councilmember LaCava’s proposal to the City Council for adoption.
