The Reuse and Repair Collective, a Zero Waste San Diego project, located at 611 Beech Street has hosted over 100 workshops, repair opportunities and community events since first opening on September 25, 2025. The collective is housed in a converted school building in Cortez Hill in downtown San Diego. The space embodies the reuse principle. All fixtures and furniture in the building have been recovered through government surplus and community donations. The building consists of:
The tool shed housing everything from hammers to speciality tools.
The sewing room with sewing machines and textile repair supplies.
The bike repair station fully equipped for bike repairs and maintenance.
Community workshop area for large projects and collaborative learning
Community conference rooms available to rent for small groups
Workshops on upcycling-focused crafts to show you how to take something old and reuse it in a new way.
The Reuse and Repair Collective offers San Diego residents of all skill levels access to tools, repair knowledge and a project space to learn repair skills, extend the life of your belongings, and connect with community.
