On Tuesday, 4/7 at 3 PM, the Water Group will meet on Zoom to hear from San Diego County
Water Authority employee Efren Lopez, Senior Water Resources Specialist about the UWMP.
Every 5 years, the state requires every water district, retail or wholesale, to write a planning
document called the Urban Water Management Plan. This document details the water needs
and plans for the future 25 years in 5 year segments. The intent is to make sure the district is
prepared to meet possible future scenarios ranging from normal through short drought to severe
drought. The purpose is to insure that the entire state water system is focused on being
prepared for both normalcy and severe water emergencies. Efren will tell us about the
SDCWA’s vision of water supply and demand for the next 25 years. All are welcome to attend.
