The San Diego CJ Interest Group has been working on a report about the conditions in our jails for the past year. We have had interviews with reporters, Oversight Board members, the Inspector General for LA County, San Diego’s Medical examiner and heads of other NGO’s to share information and get different perspectives. We have studied 2 Grand Jury reports, a State Audit report, one commission by the County Oversight Board and another by one of the local NGO’s. We have compiled that information into a 24 page report and from that report we have created a slide deck of 18 slides. We will be presenting that on October 22nd at a League luncheon. We hope that it will be well received so that we can “take it on the road”. After that we will be quiet for November and December since we haven’t had a break this year.
